King Of The Ring And Queen’s Crown Tournaments Set To Begin On 10/8 WWE SmackDown
Two major tournaments are set to begin next Friday night on the season premiere of WWE SmackDown.
During tonight’s draft edition of SmackDown, WWE advertised that the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments will kick off next Friday, October 8 and continue on Monday Night Raw. This news was originally reported by Andrew Zarian of Wrestling Observer and Mat Men Podcast.
The last time the King of the Ring tournament was held was in 2019 and it was won by Baron Corbin. It had been a yearly event until 2002 and then it became far more sporadic. In the 19 years since then, it has only taken place five times.
This will be the inaugural Queen’s Crown tournament. On August 27, WWE filed a trademark for the phrase “Queens Crown Tournament”.
It is unknown when the finals of the tournament will take place.
