King Corbin Calls Sharing The Ring With The Rock A “Special Moment,” Says He Owes Him A Beating
When SmackDown premiered on Fox, The Rock made his triumphant return to WWE television, appearing in a segment with King Corbin and Becky Lynch. The segment ended with Rock and Lynch standing tall after insulting Corbin and laying him out.
Following the premiere, Rock took to Instagram to praise Corbin, writing, “This Rock Bottom crash landing is gonna knock the hell outta ya, but it’s just pain. Eventually, it goes away — Huge thank you to this stud @baroncorbinwwe. Thanks for the action and letting me throw around all 6’8 300lbs of you. You gotta lot of talent and potential as we discussed. Keep working hard to hone your craft, always entertain the fans and when it’s time to be a bad MF’er. Be a bad MF’er. And tell @wwe props to always make sure you have more than one crown”
Appearing on WWE Backstage, Corbin discussed what it was like from his perspective to stand in the ring with The Rock.
“It was truly a special moment because I’m getting to share the ring with an icon,” said Corbin. “If you’re ever around him, there’s something about him that makes you go, ‘this dude is a star.’ Even if you have no clue who he is, if he were to walk into the room, you’d go, ‘Woah, that dude is special.’ It was a cool moment to be in the ring with him. Eating The Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow, another cool moment. He’s one of the best ever on the mic. There are a few people who you’d put in that category. I felt like I hung with him and now I owe him a beating. That’s where we’re at.”
It is unknown if or when The Rock will return to WWE television. Corbin did manage to humiliate a member of Rock’s family on the latest episode of SmackDown, pouring dog food over Roman Reigns. Corbin confirmed on WWE Backstage that the dog food was “1000% real.”
Corbin is scheduled to face Reigns in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match this Sunday at WWE TLC.
