The former AEW World Champion is currently out of action with multiple injuries, but prior to this, MJF served as both an actor and producer for A24’s The Iron Claw, which covered the story of Kevin Von Erich and the rest of the legendary Von Erich family.

While speaking to The A2theK Wrestling Show in a recent interview, Kevin Von Erich was asked about MJF, noting that from the moment the pair met, he knew Max was going to go far.

“He’s something else. I knew when I met him that he was going to go far. I just knew. In wrestling, we have some very flamboyant personalities, and wrestling needs people like that, but if it wasn’t that way, it would be a boring place, really. These guys have got to have it inside them. Guys like Michael Hayes. People say, ‘is he really that big of an ass?’ You’ve got to meet him. They’ve got to get it somewhere. I have to say, with MJF, he’s a classic example. That’s him. He’s a good guy, but he’s the way he is and he’s not going to change for anybody. You have to admire that, that he sticks to his guns. He’ll do it his way. Good for him.”

MJF last competed at AEW World’s End, losing the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe before being turned on by Adam Cole as part of the reveal of AEW’s Devil storyline.

John Cena recently reflected on meeting MJF at the premiere for The Iron Claw. To check out Cena’s comments, you can find them here.
