Kevin Reilly Exits WarnerMedia Amid Major Restructuring

While it’s unknown how this will affect AEW, Kevin Reilly is out at WarnerMedia as the company goes through a restructuring.

Variety reports WarnerMedia executives  Bob Greenblatt and Kevin Reilly are exiting the company. WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar made the announcement in a memo to staff on Friday.

Reilly joined Turner as head of TNT and TBS in 2014. He was later promoted to head of content for WarnerMedia. The news of his departure comes despite the fact he signed a new four-year deal with the company last May.

For wrestling fans, this is big news as Reilly was the top backer in bringing AEW to TNT.

When AEW Dynamite was renewed in January, Reilly said, “When Tony Khan first shared with me his idea of starting a new wrestling league, I was impressed by his audacity to go up against a contender that has been the only game in town for twenty years, and ultimately believed that together we could bring his vision for a new, authentic, gritty product to bear.”

AEW President Tony Khan has compliment Reilly many times in interviews for bringing AEW to TNT, saying the two would talk at Halloween parties, which got the ball rolling on the deal.

AEW Dynamite’s contract on TNT runs through 2023 after renewal in January. A second show was announced as part of the deal, though that has yet to come to fruition.
