Kevin Kelly Has Left Ring Of Honor

Kevin Kelly has joined the mass exodus from Ring of Honor.

Rovert (@SoDuTw on Twitter) first broke the news and PWInsider reported on Thursday that the long time announcer Kelly has already left the company, having handed in his resignation last weekend.

Although Kelly is not scheduled for any upcoming ROH events, he's still expected to fulfill his English commentary duties for NJPW's streaming of The New Beginning this Sunday in Sapporo, Japan.

With Kelly's exit, he joins Steve Corino and Nigel McGuinness as announcers who have left the company in recent months. Both Corino and McGuinness have landed in WWE, albeit in very different roles.  Corino is now a trainer with the Performance Center, and McGuinness did color commentary for the United Kingdom Championship Tournament. McGuinness was also just announced as Corey Graves' replacement on the commentary team in NXT.

No word yet on a replacement for Kelly in ROH, but it's possible that Ian Riccaboni, who announces for ROH’s Women of Honor bouts, could get the nod.

Kelly broke into the business for IWF in Florida and worked for WWE from 1993 to 2003. He worked for Lucha Libre USA for two seasons before being brought into ROH by Jim Cornette in 2010.
