Kenny Omega Says AEW Is Still Developing A Face Of The Women’s Division
Riho is the current AEW Women’s Champion, but that doesn’t necessarily make her the face of the division. The AEW women’s roster is loaded with talents such as Kris Statlander, Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and more. And while all of them stand out in their own unique way, AEW Co-Executive Vice President Kenny Omega believes the face of the division has yet to be determined.
Taking to social media, Omega answered a variety of questions coming off Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. When asked who he considers the face of the division during the Q&A session, Omega stated, “Still developing the face of the division, but Riho’s proven to be an inspiration to many, Shida is the complete package, and Kris has shown that she has the tools to take the div to another level.”
Riho and Statlander fought for the AEW Women’s Championship on Dynamite, with Riho picking up the victory in a match that was heavily criticized due to the interference by the Nightmare Collective.
When asked about the recent criticisms of the division, Omega said, “Lately, most ‘criticisms’ I read are incredibly ignorant. Depressing the amount of fans that have absolutely no class. That being said, I do try to sift through those to get to the actual constructive criticism.”

My goal was unity but strangely my toughest adversary hasn’t been office big wigs or fellow performers, it’s fans that prefer hostility in the world and want to both love and hate something equally.

We’ve been working together for years and have a great natural chemistry. My other partner is unfortunately busy with another promotion —
