Kenny Omega Responds To Fan Sign Stating The Elite Ruined NJPW
Kenny Omega fires back.
A fan on Twitter noticed a sign in the crowd on Raw that read “Harold Meij And The Elite Ruined NJPW.” The fan took a picture of the sign and tagged members of the Elite in the tweet, asking for their thoughts on the sign. Kenny Omega was the only one to offer a response, which set off a string of responses from Omega defending his place atop NJPW.

Didn’t I outdraw Tana vs Okada by over 2 times and set attendance records across the board spanning multiple years? Can we talk about that? Nah, didn’t think so —

Cool. I’ll agree next time that I’m destroying a company I sacrificed everything for and pray to the heavens that you like me

After being told to ignore the comments, Omega admitted that sometimes he does pick the wrong time to interact with fans.
Agree with you there. Sometimes I choose the wrong times to be interactive. It’s a no win situation

Omega’s reign as IWGP Heavyweight Champion has done similar business to Kazuchika Okada’s record setting reign last year in terms of attendance. Omega has headlined two events in Japan as the champion (King of Pro Wrestling and Destruction in Hiroshima), both of which drew similar numbers — within 160 fans — to last year’s events. It should be noted that Hiroshi Tanahashi headlined Destruction in Hiroshima 2017, not Okada.
Omega is currently scheduled to headline Wrestle Kingdom 13 against Hiroshi Tanahashi.
