Kenny Omega Calls Match With El Generico At PWG Express Written Consent In 2009 One Of His Favorites

Kenny Omega had fun working with El Generico in PWG.

Even though he has long since retired and permanently tends to his orphanage in Mexico, El Generico was once one of the brightest independent wrestling stars in the game. Throughout his time in wrestling, Generico had several run-ins with Kenny Omega as both a tag team partner and an opponent.

On his most recent Twitch stream, Kenny Omega named a match he had with Generico at PWG Express Written Consent in February 2009 as one of his favorite matches during his time in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

“My favorite match in PWG? That’s a good question. One that I really enjoyed that I think was just so fun to watch from start to finish was my match against, and, I mean, he’s long since retired, but before he retired and went back to his orphanage in Mexico, I had a good match with a guy named El Generico, do you guys remember him? I don’t know what he’s up to now. I hope he’s doing okay, but that’s one of my favorites. “

Of course, El Generico actually went on to become current WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.

Omega also spoke on this stream about his time working against Bryan Danielson in PWG. Read his comments on Bryan as a performer overall at this link
