Kenny Omega Announced For Interpromotional Six-Man Tag Team Match At IMPACT Under Siege

The AEW and IMPACT World Champion will be in action at Under Siege.

At Rebellion on April 25, Kenny Omega defeated Rich Swann to capture the Unified IMPACT World Championship. Trying to circumvent his contractual duties, Omega tried to appear on the latest episode of IMPACT via Zoom, but Scott D’Amore informed Don Callis that the self-proclaimed “Belt Collector” would be stripped of the title if he failed to appear in person at the arena.

Don Callis quickly got on the phone and had Omega rushed to Nashville on a private jet. Meanwhile, D’Amore announced a six-man match at Under Siege to determine a new number one contender to the IMPACT World Championship. Chris Bey and Matt Cardona earned their places via qualifying matches, with four more yet to happen.

In the main event, Sami Callihan and Eddie Edwards faced off with a spot in the Under Siege bout on the line. With just a couple of minutes left in the show, and with Sami setting up his next move, Omega and The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows) hit the ring and attacked both men. Kenny was set to hit Sami with a V-Trigger when David Finlay and Juice Robinson came out and made the save.

Sami was announced as the winner via disqualification. Earlier in the night, he shared words with Don Callis, explaining how he has his sights set on Kenny Omega.

FinJuice are New Japan Pro Wrestling talents, but also serve as the IMPACT Tag Team Champions. They successfully retained their titles versus The Good Brothers at Rebellion.

As a result of their actions, Omega, Gallows, and Anderson will face Edwards and FinJuice at UnderSiege, the IMPACT Plus Special on Saturday, May 15. No announcement has been made as of yet in regards to what will happen with the number one contender opportunity that was earmarked for Callihan or Edwards.

The cross-promotional goodness doesn’t end here, however, as it was also announced that New Japan Pro Wrestling and Bullet Club’s El Phantasmo will be appearing on IMPACT next week (May 6, 2021).
