Keith Lee Reflects On Advice The Undertaker Gave Him In 2008
Keith Lee reflects on advice The Undertaker gave him in 2008 just before Keith had his first WWE tryout.
The Undertaker has always been one of, if not the premier measuring stick for the “big man” wrestler in modern history. Undertaker’s ability to compete at a high level with any style of an opponent is part of the evolution that has kept Undertaker in WWE for 30 years. On today’s roster, Keith Lee is a “phenom” in his own right, showing the same level of range (updated for the modern roster) as the Undertaker first displayed 30 years ago.
The Undertaker is set for his final farewell at the 2020 WWE Survivor Series event, 30 years to the day of his first appearance back in 1990. In the build to the event, many superstars have weighed in on what the Undertaker has meant for their career.
Speaking on WWE Ahora’s preview of the 2020 Survivor Series event, Keith Lee revealed that the Undertaker was one of the first people to give him legendary advice and he did so right before Keith’s first tryout with WWE in 2008.
“So I’ll try not to be long-winded about this. The Undertaker is a person that has had an impact on my career as well before I ever came along into WWE. Matter of fact, it dates all the way back to right before my very first tryout with WWE in 2008. He gave me my first bit of legendary suggestions or advice, if you will. It is something that has shaped my career ever since then and the simple phrase was, ‘make what you do mean something.’ So in accordance with that and a bit of time that I’ve been fortunate enough to spend with him in the last year, it’s just a lot of knowledge that I want to take. So I’m looking forward to seeing what Survivor series offers.”
In the last year, Keith climbed up the NXT ranks winning both the North American and the NXT Championship in this calendar year before being traded to Monday Night Raw after SummerSlam.
