Kazuchika Okada Unsure If There Is A Need For Him To Wrestle Kenny Omega Again

Kazuchika Okada has no problem running it back with Kenny Omega in the United States if that’s what the fans want to see.

Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega had a series of matches in Japan that helped make Kenny Omega a worldwide star among wrestling fans. In June of this year, AEW and NJPW will host their first joint pay-per-view event, Forbidden Door. Speaking with Sports Illustrated about whether or not he will wrestle Kenny at the pay-per-view and if there is any interest on his behalf to do so, Okada questioned whether or not there is any need for another match but also said that he would it be happy to take part in another one if the fans desire it.

“Is there still unfinished business there?” Okada asks. “I’ve already wrestled a lot of great opponents. It was an honor for me last month to team with Tatsumi Fujinami and wrestle against a legend like Yoshiaki Fujiwara. There are a lot of truly great professional wrestlers out there and a lot of possible dream matches. If running me and Kenny back really is a dream match, well then that’s definitely a direction to take.”

In the past, Okada proclaimed that he wanted to work with both CM Punk and Bryan Danielson while they are active competitors still. While he doesn’t give any hints as to which one he would prefer to wrestle at the upcoming Forbidden Door paper view, he remains confident that the time will come for him to have matches with both of them.

“Forbidden Door with AEW has just been announced, and all the fans are predicting various matches,” Okada says. “I believe the day will come when I wrestle CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.”

Okada has an upcoming match with Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Naito has a different approach when it comes to his potential upcoming match at Forbidden Door. He believes wrestlers will be clamoring to work with him. Learn more here.
