Kazuchika Okada: I Want The IWGP Title To Headline Wrestle Kingdom, But If The Fans Want To Vote, We’ll Vote

Kazuchika Okada will vote if the fans want to vote.

In 2014, the fans voted for the Wrestle Kingdom main event as the IWGP Intercontinental Title bout between Shinsuke Nakamura and Hiroshi Tanahashi was seen on the level as the IWGP Heavyweight Title match between Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito.

Nakamura vs. Tanahashi won the vote.

A decade later, Wrestle Kingdom 18 has two top-tier matches set as SANADA defends the IWGP World Heavyweight Title against Naito and Okada takes on Bryan Danielson. If the fans want to take it to a vote once again, Okada would support the decision.

“I can understand if I were to say, ‘It’s okay to do it,’ but I think the customers are starting to say that. I can understand if I say, ‘Why don’t we do it,’ but I think the audience is starting to say that. It was 10 years ago, right? I want New Japan to have IWGP fights as the main event, so I hope they will never waver. But, well…if I’m going to do it, I’ll do it. I think it’s okay to do as much as you want to do,” he told Tokyo Sports

As of now, SANADA vs. Naito is set to headline the show.
