Kazuchika Okada Defeats Jay White To Win His 5th IWGP Heavyweight Title At ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard
Okada is the man once again in New Japan.
After losing the IWGP Heavyweight Championship last June at NJPW’s ‘Dominion’ event, Kazuchika Okada won back the IWGP Heavyweight Title by defeating Jay White in the main event of Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Supercard show at Madison Square Garden.
There has been tension between Jay White and Okada that dates back to January of 2018 when White initially joined the ‘CHAOS’ faction and months later, began to make out the path to blow up the faction from the inside out and he did just that. Jay White defeated Okada in the 2018 NJPW G1 Climax tournament and went on to best Okada again at Wrestle Kingdom 13 this past January and one month after that, “The Switchblade” at the age of 26-years old became IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
After months of taunting “The Rainmaker”, White’s karma came around full circle after a handful of “Rainmakers” and dropkicks put him out for a three count at G1 Supercard and the final story of the show is that Kazuchika Okada has won his fifth IWGP Heavyweight Championship and has climbed to the top of the mountain in New Japan Pro Wrestling again.
