Kazuchika Okada Calls Himself A ‘Super Human’ After Beating EVIL At King Of Pro Wrestling

Even though he was younger, and in some ways a bit more popular than he was during their match, Kazuchika Okada had no problem taking care of business, successfully defeating EVIL to retain the IWGP Heavyweight title at King of Pro Wrestling.

He spoke to New Japan's website following his successful title defense. When asked how the match went, Okada was proud enough of the result that he labeled himself a super human.

"Well, (EVIL) needs to work on more ways to beat super humans like me" he said. "He has the ability, that's not in doubt, he'll have another shot sometime, but the fact is, he can't beat a super man yet. Well, even if he could, he still wouldn't be able to beat me."

He also talked about facing someone who was younger than him.

"Honestly, I don't think of it like that, in those senpai/kohai terms" he replied. "The cream rises to the top, that's all. I mean, I've been much younger than my challengers in some cases but come out on top, so senpai or not, doesn't matter, being the best does."

Although EVIL would have been considered the heel in their match, Okada did get some boos from the crowd. It didn't phase him that much, however.

"It's not something I was all that aware of" he said. "When I wrestled Tanahashi, there were Tanahashi chants and Okada chants.. I don't know. Has there ever been a champion like me? Somebody so good, so dominant that he gets boos? I’m not sure. Maybe I've said this before, but I don't really care about the past. Boo me, cheer the other guy, all I can say is sorry, I'm just too damn good. You think you can stop me? Give it your best shot."

With Okada successfully beating EVIL, he is soon set to break Shinya Hashimoto's record of 489 days and become the longest regining IWGP Heavyweight champion is history.
