Kaun discusses potentially reuniting with Shane Taylor and explains why he enjoys being a part of The Embassy.

As a member of Shane Taylor Promotions (STP), Kaun had a lengthy run with the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. The group lost the gold to The Righteous (Vincent, Bateman & Dutch) at ROH Final Battle 2021, and the company subsequently went on hiatus. Kaun worked a few AEW Dark tapings before he signed with AEW in February 2022. Since then, he has appeared on both AEW and ROH programming following Tony Khan’s acquisition of the latter.

Kaun, Toa Liona, and Brian Cage initially aligned with Tully Blanchard before Prince Nana purchased the faction at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022. The trio went on to win the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship by defeating Dalton Castle and The Boys at ROH Final Battle 2022. Taylor also competed at the show; he and JD Griffey faced Swerve in Our Glory (Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland).

In an interview with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Kaun was asked about potentially reuniting with Taylor in the new era of ROH. Kaun emphasized that, in wrestling, you never know what’s going to happen. He then stated that he had a great time in his run with STP, but he has also had a dream to work with Prince Nana.

“I feel like the cliche is, ‘Never say never,’ right. You don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future. It’s funny because people will ask me about that, and then, ‘Oh, do you like to work with more?’ I’m like, well, if you look at it this way, I’m the common denominator in both groups that have held championship gold. So there’s something about me, being this Cambodian prince, this athlete that’s gonna be one of the best of all time, that they wanna fight for me and my intention of who I should be working with. It was great working with STP, but I’ve also had a dream to work with Prince Nana,” Kaun said.

Kaun went on to describe how he spoke to Prince Nana two years ago, and they hit it off when they later met in person. He pointed out that they’re both princes, and he’s excited by the opportunity to be a member of The Embassy, given its rich history in ROH.

“I messaged him two years ago. He reached out to me, and he was like, ‘Hey, I love to see what you’re doing out there. I respect the work.’ When I got to meet him in person and catch up with him, I was like, man, this is meant to be. We’re both princes, you have the Ashanti part, I’m Cameroonian. This is super exciting, and it’s a new experience. The Embassy has so much rich history in Ring of Honor. Why would I want not to be a part of that?” Kaun said.
