Kamille is confident that potentially holding more live shows can help the NWA grow its audience.

NWA World Women’s Champion Kamille won the title at NWA When Our Shadows Fall in June 2021, and she has held the title ever since. Throughout this lengthy run, she has become one of the company’s top stars, and she has been a part of many NWA Powerrr tapings. The company tapes its TV content in blocks and airs them over the course of several weeks, rather than holding weekly live events. However, NWA travels for its pay-per-view events, which typically air live on FITE.

Speaking with Steve Fall in an interview for WrestlingNewsCo, Kamille was asked whether she thinks holding live events would be a better opportunity to grow the audience, as opposed to NWA’s current taping method. She responded by sharing her belief that it could help get new eyes on the product. Kamille explained that the live shows might draw fans who don’t watch NWA on FITE or YouTube. She also noted that she thinks NWA will be doing more live events in the new year.

“I definitely think that going live is a great way to get some new eyes on the product just because you gotta think, not everyone is a hardcore fan that is gonna watch Powerrr, whether it be on FITE on Tuesdays or YouTube on Fridays. They’re just not going to. But people on a Friday, Saturday night or whatever don’t have anything to do, and they kind of just enjoy wrestling a little bit and see that there’s live wrestling in their town, they’re gonna go check it out. So I think that it’s a great way to get some fans that maybe they don’t even know what’s happening with our show. At least they’ll come check out a live show, and even people that aren’t wrestling fans, when they go to a live show, have a great time. So that can be a way for like, okay, they have a great time, and now they start actually watching the product that’s on FITE or YouTube. So I think that live events, I’m really excited for this upcoming year. I think we’re gonna be doing more live events, and it’s gonna be a great way to get some new fans to check it out,” Kamille said.

Kamille went on to describe how she thinks consistently good stories can also help the NWA grow. She noted that NWA previously stood apart in this regard, and she pointed to the Ten Pounds of Gold series as an example. The champion also emphasized the importance of having compelling storylines for the main titles.

“I think something else that can help us grow is just getting that consistent storyline, good storylines going on because I think that’s something that really set us apart when we first started, especially for the Worlds Heavyweight Title. We had the Ten Pounds of Gold Series and everything like that, so everyone was following. Even if they didn’t know what was gonna be on the card for the whole show, they knew what that main event was gonna be, and so they wanted to come and check that out. So I think if we kinda get back to really getting a good story going into the main title storylines, that would be a good way for us to grow as well,” Kamille said.

In the same interview, Kamille commented on the discussion surrounding a second NWA EmPowerrr event. Check out her comments here.
