Kalisto Confirms Shoulder Injury He Suffered In December 2019

For those wondering what is up with Kalisto and his absence from WWE television, the former United States Champion has confirmed that he is on the shelf with an injury.

Appearing on his “Lucha Family” YouTube channel, Kalisto stated that he suffered a shoulder injury during a live event in Los Angeles in a tag team against The Revival on December 30, 2019. The match was stopped abruptly and Kalisto was checked out by WWE medical staff. The injury was previously reported, but Kalisto has now gone official with his injury and elaborated on the injury and his recovery.

“I wanted to take this moment because I’m seeing a lot of fans tweeting at me, messaging me ‘Where am I?’ Am I still with WWE? The answer is yes, but unfortunately, I got hurt back on December [30] at the Staples Center in LA. I ended up having an AC separation in my shoulder and some ligament tear. Thank God no surgery, but it’s a longer recovery and I’m taking my time to come back. I want to come back 100 percent. Every time I watch SmackDown or Raw, I just want to get in there so bad. But I know my boys are doing great, Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik, man, you guys know in my heart you are going to win the tag team titles. I’ll see you soon,” Kalisto said.

Although Kalisto has been absent from WWE television all year, his fellow Lucha House Party members Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado have been wrestling on SmackDown and even competed in the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Title Elimination Chamber match back in March.
