Jushin Thunder Liger Retirement Ceremony, Mystery Lineup Set For NJPW New Year Dash

New Year Dash is set, and so is a special ceremony.

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced some of the happenings for their annual Wrestle Kingdom follow up, but not really, as the New Year Dash mystery aspect continues. However, Jushin Thunder Liger’s retirement ceremony has been announced.

Below is NJPW’s official statement:

After the biggest Wrestle Kingdom of all time on January 4 & 5 2020, January 6 will see a huge New Year Dash!!. Away from its traditional Korakuen Hall home, the Ota City Gymnasium will be packed with fans ready to witness the fallout from the Tokyo Dome, and the first strides toward NJPW in the new year to come. 

Already announced is the retirement ceremony for Jyushin Thunder Liger, who is set to wrestle his last match on January 5. Apart from this however, a New Year Dash tradition will be upheld; the night’s card will remain a complete mystery until bell time. 

At 6:30PM (local time), the card will be announced for a night that’s guaranteed to see surprises, upsets and huge moments!

Liger will wrap up a nearly 36 year career at the Tokyo Dome the day prior before celebrating at New Year Dash. 

NJPW New Year Dash takes place on January 6, 2020 from the Ota City Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. Fightful will have full, live coverage of the show, including full results.
