Jushin Liger Faces Brian Pillman Jr. In A Six-Man Tag Bout At DEFY Wrestling On August 23
It’s happening. Sort of.
DEFY Wrestling announced that Jushin Thunder Liger will team with Karl Fredericks & Alex Coughlin to take on Brian Pillman Jr and Amerikan Gunz (Ethan HD & Mike Santiago) in six-man tag team action. Although it’s not the one-on-one bout between Liger and Pillman Jr that fans have been clamoring for, it is the first time Liger will step in the ring with Pillman Jr, the son of Brian Pillman, who was one of Liger’s greatest rivals in the states.
Legend JUSHIN THUNDER LIGER teams with Young Lions Karl Fredericks & Alex Coughlin to battle Brian Pillman Jr and AMERIKAN GUNZ (Ethan HD & Mike Santiago) at DEFY #Defyance Forever in Tacoma!

You will need more than a few Lions to stop me from getting my hands on you Jushin! Ladies and Gentlemen this will be one of the most important matches of my career. To honor my father and the legend @Liger_NJPW is the ultimate fulfillment — https://t.co/LdN4Xflxh5

Pillman and Liger famously opened the first episode of WCW Nitro and put on a classic match at WCW SuperBrawl II. It remains to be seen if Pillman Jr will face Liger in a singles bout before Liger retires in January 2020.
