Josh Barnett To Make Pro Wrestling NOAH Debut In GHC Martial Arts Rules Match At N-1 Victory Finals

Josh Barnett is coming to Pro Wrestling NOAH.

NOAH announced that Barnett will make his NOAH in-ring debut face Masakatsu Funaki in a GHC Martial Arts Rules match at the N-1 Victory finals from the Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan, on September 3. Funaki is the co-founder of Pancrase, and he is a two-time King of Pancrase winner.

Barnett is a renowned name in the world of combat sports; he is the youngest UFC Heavyweight Champion. He also won the King of Pancrase. In the wrestling world, Barnett has competed for NJPW, Inoki Genome Federation, and GCW. He also wrestled for TNA in 2017. Barnett was recently on the English commentary for the NOAH Majestic event on May 4. In his most latest match, Timothy Thatcher defeated him at Bloodsport 9 on March 30.

Funaki has also had a successful MMA career; he has beaten stars like Ken Shamrock, Frank Shamrock, and Minor Suzuki. In wrestling, he won the AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship and the AJPW World Tag Team Championship. He has held the GHC National Championship with NOAH, and he has won the Pro Wrestling Zero1 World Heavyweight Championship.
