JONAH Discusses Boyhood Fear Of The Ocean And How It Relates To His ‘Tsunami’ Finishing Move

JONAH talks about the Tsunami.

JONAH tries to finish every match of his with his Tsunami splash. It’s a move that has earned him championships in the past and even though Wade Barrett is no longer the one calling the maneuver, the name Tsunami has stuck.

Speaking about the origins of the name with Sami Callihan, JONAH says that he has always been fascinated by the ocean and had a childhood fear of being killed by a Tsnaumi that would go on to destroy earth. Now, he hopes to make his opponents fear Tsunamis as he once did.

“I think the ocean would be the scariest thing for me in regards to nature,” said JONAH. “For some reason, as a teenager, I used to have this recurring dream about a tsunami that was gonna kill me and destroy the earth. Then all these years later I end up calling my top rope splash the Tsunami because of that. Because it’s bigger than just a splash.”

Elsewhere on the same interview, JONAH spoke about a nixed tribute to Big Van Vader at a prior Halloween Havoc show. Learn more here.
