JONAH Aims To Prove He’s The Top Dog In The NJPW G1 Climax 32

JONAH aims to prove he’s the top dog and the best big man in the NJPW G1 Climax 32.

JONAH is determined to prove that he truly is the Top Dog, and competing in the NJPW G1 Climax 21 could be the perfect way to do so.

The former Bronson Reed is part of the bracket for this year’s tournament, which will kick off on July 16. The G1 often features some of the top talent in NJPW, so JONAH will have the chance to mix it up with names like Kazuchika Okada, Jeff Cobb, and Bad Luck Fale.

In an interview with NJPW’s official website, the powerhouse previewed the tournament by noting that, out of everyone in B Block, he wants to face IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White because he’s on top right now.

“He’s the top guy in NJPW now, and if you’re not striving to be at the top you shouldn’t be in the business,” JONAH said when asked about White. “So he’s the other guy I want to face.”

Competing in the tournament will mark JONAH’s first trip to Japan since 2015, and he’s determined to prove himself to the fans.

“I want them to know that I live up to my nickname. I am the Top Dog, the best big man in this business by none. I’ve grown so much as a competitor since being in NOAH, and through my time in WWE as well. This is a new chapter in the book of JONAH, and I want to show something new, a new side of myself not just to the Japanese fans but to the whole world,” he said.

“The Top Dog” also highlighted his August match 7 against Kazuchika Okada, saying, “There was a time when we nearly wrestled in Australia and for various reasons it didn’t happen. So do finally do it in New Japan, and in Osaka, which is a great town for wrestling, I’m really excited to prove that I’m worthy of being in there against the best.”

JONAH is part of the star-studded A Block in the tournament; the group also includes Okada, Cobb, Archer, Tom Lawlor, Toru Yano, and Bad Luck Fale.
