AEW CEO Tony Khan announced that Jon Moxley will face Jeff Hardy in a singles match on the January 31 episode of AEW Dynamite. He noted that they will be fighting for a valuable win on the night that the AEW Rankings return.

Moxley has defeated Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty in recent weeks, while Hardy has delivered impressive performances in losses against Darby Allin and Swerve Strickland.
