Jon Moxley Says Debuting For AEW Trumps Winning The WWE Championship

Jon Moxley thinks very highly of his debut at Double Or Nothing.

Jon Moxley reemerged back on the independent scene at the conclusion of the month of April and just mere weeks later he aligned with All Elite Wrestling and will be a part of the company for the foreseeable future. He has explained that he is looking forward to being a part of the growth of the company and thinks highly of the powers that be who are at the helm of AEW and admires how they are giving talent control to a certain degree to allow talents to put themselves in a position to become top stars.

Jon Moxley did have a successful run in WWE as he was a WWE Champion, United States, Intercontinental and a Tag Team Champion. He had the opportunity to compete on several WrestleMania cards but with all of that, he feels that debuting at All Elite Wrestling’s Double Or Nothing is the highlight of his career. Moxley joined the ‘Flip The Strip’ radio show in Las Vegas and said arriving in AEW was an indescribable feeling and it trumps winning the WWE Championship.

“[It was] actually kind of a blur.” Moxley said of his AEW debut. “It was very surreal. It was a great feeling. It was probably the best feeling of my career. It was almost like… not so much, it was like the inverse of being uncomfortable in your own shoes. You’re like so comfortable, that you’re almost not used to it. You’re like, ‘Woah!’ I had to get my bearings a little bit like, ‘Wow, this feels fantastic.’ It’s like putting on [a] really good fitting pair of pants like, ‘Oh my God, look at how much room I have. I can do the splits.’ It was that kind of feeling. Definitely I’d say, probably the highlight of my career thus far. Across the street from [the] MGM Grand a few years ago at the T-Mobile [Arena] I won the title, the WWE Title. The title that I wanted to win as a kid ever since [the] Bret Hart versus Shawn Michaels Iron Man match over that title. I was like, ‘I wanna be WWE Champion.’ I went and did that. That was pretty cool. This totally trumps that. To stand on my own two feet, no WWE involvement whatsoever even though they obviously made my name — Jon Moxley wasn’t a famous name, but 12,000 people or however many people were there chanting ‘Moxley’ was an indescribable satisfying feeling.”
