Jon Moxley Issues Challenge To Yuji Nagata, Says He’s Taking Scalps From Hardest Hitters In The Game
Jon Moxley has called his next shot.
Earlier this year, Moxley had been feuding with KENTA, as the Bullet Club member looked to cash in his IWGP US Heavyweight Right to Challenge Contract. Towards the end of January and into early February, both men appeared on the other’s show (NJPW Strong & AEW Dynamite, respectively), with a title match taking place on February 26 at NJPW New Beginning USA. Moxley would retain the belt on that night.
New Japan Pro Wrestling has just released a new message from the AEW Superstar, in which he reiterates that he is big game hunting. Moxley said that he is taking scalps from the hardest hitters in the game before issuing a challenge to Yuji Nagata. He said the following:
“As far as the IWGP United States Championship is concerned, the way of the world aside, one thing has never changed; I call my own shots. Just like I said on January 4th, last year at the Tokyo Dome when I won that belt, I am big game hunting in New Japan Pro Wrestling. I’m taking scalps from the hardest hitters in the game. I have a deep respect for the legends of this sport and I feel like things should be done a certain way. I’m not one for ego trips and grandstanding. I’m not one for talking trash on Twitter, so I’m going to make this real simple, Nagata-san, grab your six-shooter, meet me outside the saloon at dawn and we’ll see who can get a shot off first. That is if you’re up to it.”

Over the course of Nagata’s nearly three-decade career, he has amassed a number of accomplishments. Those accolades include winning the New Japan Cup, the 2001 G1 Climax, the NEVER Openweight Championship, and two reigns with both the IWGP Tag Team Championships and IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
Jon Moxley is set to team up with The Young Bucks on the April 7 edition of AEW Dynamite. On that night, they will face the team of Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows).
