Jon Moxley opts not to say anything about CM Punk’s return to WWE.
Jon Moxley and CM Punk had a memorable feud in 2022, as Moxley won the AEW Interim World Championship when Punk got injured after he captured the title. They faced off on the August 24 episode of AEW Dynamite before they clashed again at AEW All Out 2022. Punk won the second match, but he was suspended due to a backstage incident with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
Punk returned to AEW in June 2023, but the company terminated his contract following a backstage incident with Jack Perry at AEW All In. Punk returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series, and on the November 27 episode, he cut a promo in which he said he was home.
Speaking with Liam Crowley for ComicBook.com, Jon Moxley was asked about CM Punk’s “I’m home” promo on the November 27 episode of WWE Raw.
“You don’t want to know what I think. I didn’t see it,” Moxley said when asked about the promo. “You do not want to know what I think (laughs).”
Moxley also addressed being known as the guy AEW can count on. He has had that reputation throughout his time with AEW. But it became especially apparent after AEW All Out 2022, when Moxley was set to take time off but instead continued to be the face of the company due to Punk and other stars getting suspended or injured.
“I feel like I thrive in those situations. Scramble to the f–king jets and get Moxley in the air. Oh f–k, we don’t have a main event. You’ve got to make people care about this and make this a main event in a week. I just pull main events out of my a– when I’m in those situations. I feel more comfortable when I’m the guy with the ball in the fourth quarter. It’s hard to not want to grab the ball and take the shot myself,” Moxley said.
CM Punk previously claimed that Moxley did not want to lose to him. Moxley then shared his side of the story. Check out his comments here.
