John Cena: I Confidently Believe I’m Not Done
John Cena still has something left in the tank.
John Cena will return to the ring at WWE Payback when he teams with LA Knight to take on Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa. It will mark Cena’s first televised match since losing to Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39.
Cena has wrestled every year on WWE TV since 2022, and while he knows he’s closer to the end of his career than the beginning, he believes he has something left in the tank.
“Selfishly, I said I want to make sure it’s not time to go yet and I confidently believe that I’m not done. I do believe that we’re all fighting that ticking clock, and mine has less seconds than most other people in the locker room. I just want to say thank you, thank you to the audience. A lot of times, we just go away and we don’t get a chance to say a proper like, ‘Hey, thanks for allowing me to do this for so long.’ I pull no punches, I don’t exist without the audience and I’m just really grateful for every single second. I’m really grateful, that’s why I can’t talk trash about everybody,” he said on WWE’s The Bump.
Cena has been part of WWE SmackDown weekly since September 15. Along with wrestling at WWE Fastlane, he’ll be on the October 10 episode of WWE NXT.
Elsewhere during the interview, Cena gave his thoughts on the current state of WWE. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
