Joey Janela worked an airport into re-booking his flight and used a fabricated incident involving macaroni and cheese in order to do so.
In a tweet on April 21, Janela wrote that his phone died in the middle of the night, so he missed his 6 a.m. flight. Out of desperation, Janela told the airport that he missed his flight because he was in the hospital; he explained that he suffered third-degree burns when he was cooking his son macaroni and cheese.
The full message is as follows:

“I just got out of the hospital that’s why I missed my flight, I have 3rd degree burns on my arm, I was cooking my son macaroni and cheese in the middle of the night and the cat knocked the pot off the stove and I burned my arms protecting my son from the boiling water”
They felt bad and put me on the 3pm flight, I KNOW HOW TO WORK OLD SCHOOL BROTHER!

‘The Bad Boy” also noted that he had to pull out all the stops because the situation occurred at 9:30 a.m. He pointed out that he otherwise would never have gotten the airport to re-book his flight.
Janela may have worked the airport staff into giving him a seat on a later flight, but the burns are a shoot; he recently stated that he will be unable to compete at GCW’s shows on April 21 and 22 due to the injury. More information is available here.
