Joe Lando Reflects On US Tour, Using The Shooting Star Elbow
At 22 years old, Joe Lando is one of the up and coming talents in the world of wrestling.
Lando is a regular on the European scene, competing for companies such as EAW, SWA, PROGRESS, and RevPro. In August, Lando came to America and wrestled bouts for DPW, PPW, and GCW, culminating at GCW Hope 2 Die against Nick Wayne.
Speaking to Fightful’s Stephen Jensen, Lando reflected on his US tour.
“What a way to go out for me. This is the last match of my US tour against one of the best up and coming talents in the world. Not just the States. Shout out to Nick Wayne. That was genuinely one of my favorite matches of my career. Definitely my favorite of my tour. What a way to go out,” he said. “I had around five or six (matches), it was meant to be two more. I sprained my ankle last weekend so I had to pull out of JCW against Axton Ray and GCW against Mike Bailey. Hopefully I’ll get those two matches again.”
Lando can perform a variety of aerial moves, but perhaps his best move is a shooting star elbow drop.

When asked how he came up with the move, Lando said, “How it came about, because I used to just do the normal shooting star, when I first started. One time, I was messing about in the backyard, literally on a teddy bear, it was as a joke. I was like, ‘Oh, I have enough hang time, I’ll just switch it to an elbow, that’s cool.’ I had never seen it before. I know it’s been done by Teddy Hart. At the time, I had no clue. I’m probably safer. I hit that a few times, I posted it on Instagram and a wrestler saw me at a show and was like, ‘you’re doing that.’ He basically, we won’t say bullied, peer pressured me into doing it. It went alright and I’ve been doing it ever since.”
Lando said he hopes to get the bouts against Ray and Bailey at some point in the future and named Will Ospreay as a dream opponent.
