Joe Koff Comments On Episodes Of WOW Airing On Sinclair Beginning In Fall 2022
Sinclair is reportedly adding more wrestling to its lineup.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Sinclair Broadcasting has reached a deal with Women of Wrestling with programming to start airing in fall 2022. It was previously announced new episodes of WOW will launch in weekend syndication beginning in the fall of 2022 on ViacomCBS stations.
WOW announced its relaunch on October 6 with Jeanie Buss heading the organization. AJ Lee will serve as an executive producer and Tessa Blanchard being part of the roster.
In an interview with Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Joe Koff said ROH was fine with the deal and thought having both shows on the station would be a positive.
“We’re a big company and programming is important. We thought, we had lots of discussions about this when it came up, and we thought it would be a very good companion piece to our wrestling. CBS distribution is a lot of different pieces and there is a lot of other programming that they provide us and we have a very good relationship with them. They know we’re a wrestling company and we thought for the fall of next year, this would be a logical addition to our programming across our stations,” he said.
On Wednesday, ROH announced that they will no longer be running live events, with the exception of Final Battle on December 11, until April with Super Card of Honor. Not only is ROH on a live event hiatus, talent contracts will not be renewed if they are expiring at the end of the year but those still under contract will be paid through March 31.
