Jimmy Jacobs Discussing His Post-WWE Career: “These Past Eight Months Of My Career Have Been By Far The Most Fun I’ve Ever Had”
Jimmy Jacobs is having a blast post-WWE.
Since his departure from World Wrestling Entertainment during the fall of 2017, former 5-time ROH World Tag Team Champion Jimmy Jacobs has been enjoying his time as a wrestler/manager in the eight months that he has been gone from WWE. One month after his release Jacobs made an appearance at IMPACT Wrestling’s ‘Bound For Glory’ PPV and has been working with the company as a wrestler, backstage producer and is also the on-screen manager of Kongo Kong.
The ‘Irish Mirror’ had the opportunity to speak with Jimmy Jacobs to discuss his post-WWE endeavors and Jacobs stated that the past eight months of his life have been filled with plenty of excitement and entertainment.
“I feel great,” he said. “These past eight months of my career have been by far the most fun I’ve ever had. Going to WWE and working there in the capacity that I did was a blessing. It was great to be there, but that being said it’s great to not be working there any more. I spent so long on the independent wrestling scene, but sometimes it’s like the cliche goes, ‘You don’t know what you have until it’s gone’.”
Prior to Jimmy Jacobs’ emergence into IMPACT Wrestling he made an appearance at a WrestleCircus show, Ring Of Honor’s ‘Global Wars Chicago’ event, and other shows in the weeks following his release. Jacobs ultimately decided to join IMPACT and during the interview he went over the talks he and IMPACT Co-Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore had which led to Jacobs making the decision to be a part of IMPACT.
“I’m very excited to be working in IMPACT Wrestling and using some of the things I picked up in my last job to help out here.” He said. “Scott got in touch with me and said we should have a conversation about me coming here or if they even wanted me here. So I agreed to come to Ottawa for Bound For Glory and they said I could be as much or a little a part of it as I wanted it to be and it was a good fit, it felt good.” He continued, “I went back to Ring Of Honor with that, who had an offer on the table for me to do something, and the feeling was if I was going to be working with IMPACT then I wouldn’t be working with Ring Of Honor. I can’t express it enough: I’m very happy with the decision.”
IMPACT’s ‘Slammiversary XVI’ PPV is a mere four weeks away and the card is beginning to take shape. Head over to Fightful’s coverage of last night’s episode of IMPACT to read up on what went down during the show.
