Jim Ross Says Shinsuke Nakamura Is A Top Three Wrestler In Any Generation
Jim Ross puts Shinsuke Nakamura in the top tier but says he has lost aggression in WWE.
In an interview on the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, the host and Jim Ross were discussing wrestlers wanting to stay in their own promotions instead of going to WWE then Ross said WWE got a great signing with Shinsuke Nakamura. Ross has been on commentary for Nakamura's matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling and he said Nakamura could fit into any generation of professional wrestling.
"Nakamura leaving New Japan, this son of a bitch is equivalent of signing a (Steve) Austin or any top tier, any 1,2, or 3 guy, any top three he's there in any generation of those guys," said Ross. " I love his work but I liked his work in New Japan because I could see he was more aggressive there and I don't see that aggression in him that I know he has that I enjoy," he continued.
Nakamura was at New Japan Pro Wrestling for over thirteen years and carried the most prestigious championships NJPW has to offer. He has no championship yet on the main roster of WWE but he earned a WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania 34 by winning the Royal Rumble match.
