Jim Ross Feels That The Undertaker And Shawn Michaels Stole The Show On RAW
Jim Ross weighs in.
This past Monday on RAW, WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels made his way out to the ring to promote the forthcoming match between Triple H and The Undertaker at WWE Super Show-Down on October 6th. Michaels addressed both Triple H and The Undertaker as he has shared the ring with both individuals on numerous occasions. Little did Michaels know that his words would draw a live response from “The Phenom” himself.
The two men engaged in an intense exchange in-which Shawn Michaels attempted to explain to The Undertaker that he’s been offered millions to come back for one more match but he’s stay retired out of respect for the man who put his career to rest, The Undertaker. Undertaker responded by questioning if Michaels stayed retired out of respect or out of fear. The segment between the two former multi-time WWE World Champions drew praise from fans and their peers including a WWE Hall Of Famer who has been on the call for a number of matches between the both of them and that individual is Jim Ross.
Ross went over the segment on the latest episode of his ‘Ross Report’ podcast and had the following to say about HBK and “The Deadman” stealing the show this past Monday on RAW:
“The thing that stood out the most to me on Monday Night RAW, and I don’t know what would even be second, and that sounds like I’m knocking the show and I’m really not. I thought The Undertaker/Shawn Michaels business was so much better than anything I’ve seen on television.” He continued, “I thought the Becky Lynch and Charlotte business at times has been extremely good because its real, it feels real, its organic, I get it. But boy this took me back, and because I called so many of those matches, and had the privilege of being there for WrestleMania 25 and 26 and many prior to that with those guys, and plenty with Triple H, so I’ve had a lot of experiences with these three men in their matches.” Ross explained. “I think one of the best matches I ever called – ever saw, was Triple H and Shawn, when Shawn came back from his four year hiatus. It [was] awesome. It was textbook, and he didn’t miss a damn beat, so anybody that thinks that Shawn and Undertaker couldn’t have a good match, think again please, and if we’re all gonna go for the glass is always gonna be half empty, they’re not in their prime, no s**t, they’re not in their prime. Wow, what a revelation. Of course they’re not in their prime, physically. Mentally, I suggest to you that they’re probably the best they’ve ever been mentally, to tell a story, to bring you in, to captivate you, to capture your imagination.” Ross said. “Its done psychologically more often than not. I just think they could give us a great match. If and when its gonna happen; how do you devote that much time on Monday Night RAW, because I damn near wanted to see Undertaker and Shawn more than I wanted to see Undertaker and Triple H as that show went off the air.”
