Jim Ross Enjoyed WWE United Kingdom Tournament

Jim Ross enjoyed multiple aspects of WWE's United Kingdom Tournament.

The tournament was held January 14th and 15th on the WWE Network. The tournament featured talent from England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. In his blog on Monday, Ross described the presentation of the tournament while citing a few things he considered well done about the on-screen product.

"I watched both days of the WWE's UK tournament on the WWE Network and enjoyed both shows. I especially enjoyed the broadcast team of Michael Cole and Nigel McGuinness who were stellar both Saturday and Sunday.Enjoyed the underdog winning the tournament, the interactive and jacked up live audience, the TV production was excellent and the overall in ring product was solid and at times stellar," wrote Ross.

On the second day of the tournament, the finals determined the first WWE United Kingdom Champion. Tyler Bate defeated Pete Dunne in the finals of the tournament. Ross liked who won the tournament but thought his opponent also shined.

"19 year old Tyler Bate is the first champion and is a fine, young prospect who seems to be fundamentally sound and understanding of the basic psychology of the biz well beyond his teenage years.Pete Dunne who many thought would win the tourney is a natural villain and had a distinguished tournament. He's another keeper IMO," wrote Ross.

Ross has been a fan of the WWE Network's shows before. And his impression of the United Kingdom tournament did not change his perspective. He credits those behind the scenes with making the tournament, NXT, and the Cruiserweight Classic successes.

"Between (Triple H), William Regal and company this group produces great TV which would include the NXT shows," wrote Ross.

In the rest of the blog, Ross also discussed the recent passing of Jimmy Snuka and Kenny Omega versus Kazuchika Okada

Ross posted blogs and podcasts to his website JRsBarBQ.com
