Jim Ross Believes He’ll Call Matches For AXS TV In 2019
Jim Ross is confident that he’ll be calling matches for AXS TV in 2019.
On the latest episode of the Ross Report, Ross stated, “I have not, as far as I’m concerned, broadcast my last match on AXS TV. I am unable to get back on their air until past the end of March. But I am optimistic that I will, somewhere along the way, rejoin the team in 2019 in some capacity.”
Ross’ contract with AXS expires at the end of the year. He is also under contract to WWE, which is up at the end of March. WWE previously allowed Ross to sign a new deal with AXS at the end of 2017, but have blocked him from doing so this year. Ross is free to sign with whomever once his WWE deal expires.
Ross finished up his last recording session with AXS in mid-November. He was reportedly involved in the rumored All Elite Wrestling promotion, but has shrugged off reports, calling them “eye rolling.”
The initial report regarding Ross and All Elite Wrestling linked the company to having a deal with AXS TV. However, AXS TV quickly denied their involvement with the potential promotion.
