Jim Ross And Tony Schiavone Say Tony Khan Is Not In Their Ear During AEW Dynamite

The commentary team for AEW Dynamite might change mid-show, but there is one constant; AEW announcers are allowed to call their own action.

Jim Ross was a recent guest on AEW Unrestricted with Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards. During the conversation, Ross and Schiavone revealed that AEW President Tony Khan is not in their ear giving them instructions as they work.

“Tony Khan is not in our ear. No one is in our ear to tell us what to say. He’s letting JR be JR. He’s letting you be who he hired you to be,” said Schiavone.

Ross picked up, “We all have free rein to do what we believe is right. If Tony believes he hired the right guy, then why not be a good manager and let them do their job? The day that we collectively or individually drop the ball and we fumble enough times, somebody’s ass is gone. That’s accountability. And some people are deathly afraid of accountability because they never had to be accountable. The shit will hit the fan and then we’ll find out who are soldiers, who wants to come out of the tent and who wants to hide.”

It’s well known that Vince McMahon or a WWE producer is typically in the ear of WWE announcers, oftentimes screaming according to many past WWE announcers.

Aubrey Edwards, who serves as a referee in WWE, joked that Tony is in her ear during matches.
