Jerry “The King” Lawler Reveals That He’s Had The Same Contract With WWE For 25 Years
Jerry Lawler shares some information about his contract.
WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler said during an edition of his ‘Dinner With The King’ podcast two weeks ago that he inked a new two-year deal with WWE. Lawler appears on WWE pay-per-view kickoff shows and last night he called the men’s Royal Rumble match alongside Corey Graves, JBL and Michael Cole. Lawler’s first run in the WWF lasted from 1991 to 2001 and within the year of 2001, Lawler took an absence from WWF and returned later in the year and has been a part of the sports-entertainment company ever since.
Lawler spoke with ‘Commercial Appeal’ yesterday while he was preparing to be on the Royal Rumble kickoff show and calling the men’s Royal Rumble match and shared that he’s had the same contract with WWE for 25 years and it is always longtime WWE Executive Vice President Kevin Dunn who calls him up to lock in new deals but this time around it was “unusual” because of the two-year aspect.
“I’ve had the same contract with (WWE) for 25 years now,” Lawler said. “Kevin Dunn calls me up around the same time every year. We don’t ever have to negotiate. But this one was a two-year contract, which was unusual.”
