Jeff Katz Uploading Wrestling Retribution Project, Apologizes To Fans
Jeff Katz, who worked for WCW before entering Hollywood, started the Wrestling Retribution Project in 2011 through Kickstarter. Katz announced a distribution deal with Image Entertainment and planned to release a 13-episode series on DVD and streaming platforms.
The series was filmed in Los Angeles in October 2011 and featured talent such as MVP, Luke Gallows, Colt Cabana, Alex Reynolds, The Amazing Red, Dr. Luther, Ken Doann, Sami Callihan, Kenny Omega, Shawn Daivari, Emil Sitoci, Ben Muth, Mike Rollins, Karl Anderson, Joey Ryan, Pat Buck, actress Tricia LaFeche, Timothy Thatcher and Kevin Matthews.
Unfortunately, Katz never delivered on the project.
That changed on Friday when Katz issued a public apology for “betraying” wrestling fans and explaining his side of the story. Katz stated that he will release the WPR footage in waves on YouTube. Katz noted that his plan was to have cleaner footage, but with the lockdown in California, it’s not possible at this time. Instead of making fans wait any longer, he is uploading the raw footage.
