Jeff Jarrett Hints At Who’s Inducting Him Into The WWE HOF, Talks His Friendship With Owen Hart, And More

"Double J" is counting the days until he is placed among the greats in the history of WWE.

Former 6-time WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett is a mere two weeks away from being inducted into WWE's Hall Of Fame. The Total Nonstop Action co-founder and former Vice President spoke with NOLA.com before he heads to the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on April 6th. Jarrett would discuss a number of topics with the publication including his friendship with the late great Owen Hart, and revealed his favorite match from each of the companies he's played a major role in.

Jeff Jarrett did not have the best of relationships with WWE around this time last year. Jarrett had a number of things to say about the company and how they ran things, but that is all water under the bridge as Jarrett would describe their relationship.

"It's been nothing but spectacular reconnecting. Really looking forward to getting to New Orleans and not just seeing faces we see on camera every week but people behind the scenes."

The TNA Hall Of Famer is known for breaking guitars over those who he is in the ring with. Jarrett would be asked how many guitars does he think he's broken throughout his career in wrestling.

"I'm not a big statistic guy, and that's certainly one that I haven't kept over the years. I do have some favorite guitar shots, and those are fun to reminisce on," He continued, "The Fabulous Moolah, for that time period was pretty drastic, a man hitting a 70-plus-year-old woman with a guitar. She took it like a champ. Beetlejuice of Howard Stern fame. Gary Coleman, the sitcom star of the 80's."

On an episode of RAW in early 1999, Jeff Jarrett captured the WWF Tag Team Championships with Owen Hart. There are many great stories about "The Lone Hart" who is unfortunately no longer with us, and Jarrett would add on to the collection of stories.

"Everybody has a funny story or a recounting of a rib, but the thing that I want people to never forget about is the kind of human being he was. The integrity. He was an incredible father and husband, co-worker, peer. He could put a smile on your face and he absolutely could go toe-to-toe with anybody in the industry. We had a kinship, we were both second-generation wrestlers. The respect I've got for that guy and just what he stood for, that's what I like people to remember and that's what I like to talk about when we talk about Owen's legacy."

A number of talents currently in WWE worked under Jarrett in TNA. Names like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Eric Young and Bobby Roode, who are/have been champions in WWE were given the opportunity to shine early on in their careers by way of Jeff Jarrett.

"I'm just very grateful I got the opportunity." Jarrett shared, "I knew there was going to be a huge gap in the marketplace. It gave me an opportunity to be a businessman. A guy like AJ Styles, the cream always rises to the top. He gets all the credit. Bobby Roode is another one. Their talent got them to where they're at. Talent gets you to the top, attitude keeps you there."

"Double J" is aware of who his inductor will be for the Hall Of Fame ceremony but told the publication to just stay tuned.

"Stay tuned for the announcement. I'm very excited about the guy that has been chosen."

"The King of the Mountain" has been around the wrestling business since the mid-1980's and has wrestled a number of opponents in various promotions and companies. Jarrett would share his favorites matches from his time in WCW, TNA, and WWE.

(WWE) "I had a series of matches against Shawn Michaels, a series of matches against Scott Hall and a series of tag matches where it was me and Shawn against Kevin (Nash) and Scott that I look back on very fondly. They were some of my favorites."

(WCW) "I had some matches against Booker T that rank right up there with some of my all-time favorites. I got to be in a tag match with Flair and Dusty. I had singles matches against Flair and Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page. All these guys turned out to be Hall of Famers."

(TNA) "It's two people. Sting in 2006, and Kurt Angle pushed me to my limits and then some in a series of matches in 2010. It was very compelling, very hard-hitting, and every night we delivered."
