Jeff Hardy Defeats Jinder Mahal To Become WWE United States Champion
Jeff Hardy has finally won the WWE United States Championship.
During his twenty four years in professional wrestling, Jeff Hardy has held nearly every belt WWE has offered while he was with the company. Now he has become the WWE United States Champion for the first time ever. He defeated Jinder Mahal who had just came to Raw as part of the Superstar Shakeup.
Mahal came to Raw demanding to be treated better than the majority of the roster and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle put Mahal in a championship match immediately. The following is an excerpt from the Fightful Wrestling live coverage of the match between Mahal and Hardy.
Hardy hits Mahal with a basement drop kick for a near fall. Hardy goes for a Twist Of Fate and Mahal counters with a knee strike for a near fall, Mahal goes for his finisher and Hardy escapes with a roll up for a near fall.
Mahal then clobbers Hardy with a boot to the face for another near fall, Mahal goes for a gut buster and Hardy counters with a Twist Of Fate. Hardy lands the swanton bomb for the three count.
Winner: Jeff Hardy, your new WWE United States Champion
