Jeff Hardy Cleared To Return, Talks Rehab And WWE Future
Jeff Hardy could be heading back soon, now that his brother has left the company.
Jeff has been sidelined for almost a year after a knee injury that forced the Hardy Boyz to vacate the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships. On Tuesday night’s WWE Backstage, Hardy said that he’s been cleared for action.
In the meantime, Hardy had been in legal trouble. He was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for public intoxication on July 13, and for DWI in Moore County, North Carolina on October 3, 2019. He’s scheduled to be back in court April 6 for the charge in Moore County. Hardy stated that the morning following his arrest, he entered inpatient rehab for the first time in his life.
Jeff claimed that he and Matt hadn’t spoken much about the latter’s upcoming contract decision. Matt’s contract expired on March 1. As Fightful reported back in the fall, WWE had already added “at least a year” on Jeff’s deal as a result of him missing time. He’d go on to say he wants to remain in WWE for years.
