Jeff Cobb Says He Misses Teaming With Matt Riddle, And Talks His Dream Scenario For G1 Supercard

Cobb is missing is “Chosen Bro”.

Last night at Ring Of Honor’s ‘Final Battle’ pay-per-view, the second bout of the night was the ROH World Television Championship match between Adam “Hangman” Page and the champion Jeff Cobb. Cobb and Page had a 13 minute sprint for the championship and by the end of the match those who watched it were raving about it.

At the end of the match, Jeff Cobb was still champion and is heading into tonight’s TV tapings in Philadelphia with every intention of walking into ROH and NJPW’s G1 Supercard in April as ROH World TV Champion inside what will be a sold-out Madison Square Garden. Prior to ‘Final Battle’ Cobb spoke with Mirror Sport and was asked who he’d like to be in the ring with come April 6th and Cobb shared that he’d like to have a match against the World Champion and that is currently Jay Lethal.

“I try not to look too far ahead into the future, because I don’t want to overlook anything like Final Battle, the upcoming tapings or any of the upcoming pay-per-views that we have or whatnot. But I definitely see myself there. I would love to be a part of that card. In a perfect world I would be defending my Ring Of Honor TV Championship there against somebody and that’s a goal I want to work towards.” He continued. “To be kinda selfish I guess, in my perfect world I would love to walk into Madison Square Garden doing like a Hulk Hogan versus Ultimate Warrior match, where it’s like the TV champ against the World Heavyweight Champion. If I was dream booking, armchair quarterbacking, that’s where I would see myself.”

Jeff Cobb is the current PWG World Champion, the 2018 Battle Of Los Angeles tournament winner, the current APW Universal Heavyweight Champion and has a ton more accolades and championships signed off on his resume’. One of the runs that Cobb has thoroughly enjoyed during his career was his time as a part of the ‘Chosen Bros’ with NXT star Matt Riddle. The two held the PWG World Tag Team Titles together and Cobb stated that he misses Riddle but is very happy for “The King Of Bros” and is rooting for Riddle to succeed in NXT.

“I’m super happy for him. I’m very proud of all his accomplishments. In a selfish world we would have kept teaming together in like New Japan and The World Tag League this past month and a half. You know, Matt Riddle is a star and he needs to go where he can be the brightest shining star and I think where he’s at right now, it’s inevitable for him to be the giant star that he is. He’s a talented dude and I can’t take anything away from him. Selfishly I miss him. I miss seeing him every weekend but it’s okay, I can text him or message him or whatnot. He’s a real bro.” Cobb shared.
