Jeff Cobb discusses potentially competing in the Royal Rumble match.

Cobb rose to stardom with Lucha Underground and Pro Wrestling Guerilla, among other promotions, before he landed in Ring of Honor. He had a prominent run with Ring of Honor, where he won the ROH World Television Championship, and he also started competing in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Cobb later signed with NJPW in 2020, and he has been a featured member of the roster ever since. He is currently a member of the United Empire stable alongside Will Ospreay, TJP, Franceso Akira, Aaron Henare, Great-O-Khan, and Gideon Grey.)

Speaking with Steve Fall for WrestlingNewsCo, Cobb was asked about the possibility of potentially competing in the Royal Rumble match. Cobb responded by noting that you never say never in wrestling, but it depends on the stars potentially aligning. He stated that, if WWE wanted him to be in a Royal Rumble, the company would have to go through the right avenues, given his status with NJPW. However, he made it clear that, if everything lined up, he’d be down to do it.

“You never say never. But it all depends on if the stars lined up and all that stuff. Again, if they wanted me for some odd reason, then they’d have to go through the right avenues. I don’t think they could contact me directly because I don’t think that’s legal. I don’t know how those things work. But yeah, if for some odd reason, they were like, ‘Hey, we wanna put Jeff in the Royal Rumble,’ I’m not good at Royal Rumbles. I don’t want to run down to the ring either, so [laughs]. But yeah, if the stars aligned, I’d be totally down to do it,” Cobb said.
