On the December 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) beat the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. This marked the fourth time the titles changed hands since June 24, when Finn Balor and JD McDonagh won the WWE World Tag Team Championship on WWE Raw.
McDonagh took to Twitter/X to highlight this fact. He then stated that he and Balor were having a generational run.
There have been FOUR sets of WWE Tag Team Champions over on SmackDown since me and @FinnBalor won the World Tag Titles.

Since Balor and McDonagh won the titles, they have only defended them twice on WWE programming. Their first televised title defense was not until the September 16 episode of WWE Raw, where they beat the New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods).
Balor is set to compete in singles action at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event; he is scheduled to challenge Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Fightful will have coverage of WWE Raw as it airs on December 9, as well as a post-show podcast.
