Jay: OTT Is My WrestleMania, It Would Take A Lot Of Money To Get Me Away

Jay discusses the possibility of leaving OTT.

Jay wants to always come back to OTT.

In the world of Irish independent wrestling, Over The Top Rope Pro Wrestling have proven to be the top echalant of the countries independent names and has had imports such as Gunther, Will Ospreay, Kenta and more compete for the promotion. Former OTT names such as JD McDonagh and LJ Cleary have gone on to have success outside the promotion in recent years, but some names want to stick around as long as they can.

In a recent interview with Corey Brennan of Fightful, The Draw’s Jay would discuss possibly having a stint in Japan similiar to LJ Cleary. Jay also noted that OTT is his WrestleMania.

“Look, I… I’d love to. I’d love to go and travel the world because of wrestling and meeting and talking to a lot of the Japanese imports, the style over there that they do, that’s art. If you’re a real professional wrestler and you know at the bare bones of what wrestling is, you always should want to go to Japan because they’re the hardest crowds and that’s what it comes down to. You can always be the best wrestler in your home country because everybody knows you there. But to go somewhere where the fans are literally sitting on the edge of their seat waiting for you to do something. That should be on everybody’s list to at least do once. But I always say OTT is my, it’s my home. OTT is my WrestleMania. It would take a lot of money to get me away from OTT and I always did say if I did go somewhere and I did make something of myself, it would only ever to be with a view to come back to OTT and show everybody, look, I was here, I was built here and now I’m back here. So it could be on the cards. I’ll start, I’ve been working towards it for the last two, three years, ever since I started getting really serious about wrestling. But if I stayed in OTT for the rest of my career, that would be fantastic. I would say that was a successful career.”

Jay is currently set to challenge for the Rebel X Championship at RCW Respect My Authority on Febuary 9th as he challenges Fabio and Robbie X in a triple threat match.
