James Ellsworth Is Humbled By The Words Of Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho’s latest book No Is a Four-Letter Word, isn’t a wrestling chronicle like his previous offerings. It’s more motivational and inspirational than autobiographical, but it’s certainly worth your time.

In Chapter 17, Jericho reveals The Ronnie James Dio Principle (aka The Ellsworth Edict). Here’s an excerpt:

“He shows up at the arena and against all odds randomly gets booked to have a match on Raw (something that thousands of pro wrestlers dream about daily), get promo time and totally kills it, then does such a good job in his match that the architect of modern-day pro wrestling business gives him the thumbs-up.”

Jericho is, of course, talking about James Ellsworth’s “any man with two hands” promo that he delivered prior to being squashed by Braun Strowman. Jericho says that he went to bat for Ellsworth that night and called him to compliment him on a great performance.

Ellsworth took to Twitter to show his appreciation for Jericho and the words he wrote about him in the book.

Strowman squashed a lot of people in his quest for competition during the summer of 2016, but none of them managed to make an impact quite like Ellsworth. Not only did the former Jimmy Dream get a full-time WWE job based on that appearance, he was immediately thrust into a main event storyline featuring then-WWE champion AJ Styles.

Like Jericho says in his book, give everyone their moment. If you’re a superstar and you enjoy something someone else does, let them know. You’ll not only make their day, you never know what it could lead to.
