James Ellsworth Announces He’s Been Given A Full Time WWE Contract (VIDEO)
Yesterday morning, fan favorite underdog James Ellsworth announced on his Facebook page that he would no longer be accepting independent bookings.
This post lead many to speculate that Ellsworth had been offered a Full-Time Contract with WWE.
Last night, at his final independent appearance, the Big Time Wrestling event in Altoona, PA, Ellsworth cut a promo thanking the fans and made the announcement.
"This past summer on July 25th, I had my first WWE match at the Consul Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. And something really special happened that night; I wrestled Braun Strowman, as you guys know, and I was never supposed to be seen on WWE Television again. But thanks to you guys, they kept bringing me back … week after week after week, I didn't know what was going on, I wasn't under contract, but because of you guys, they kept on bringing me back every week on Smackdown Live. It's fitting that I officially announce right here in Western Pennsylvania where this WWE journey started … that I have officially been given a WWE contract," Ellsworth said.
The crowd then broke out into Goldberg-esque "Ellsworth" chants. Ellsworth broke down and said, "For anyone who watches this on social media around the world, for the kid that's been wanting to do this since he was five years old, you all made my dream come true, thank you very much!"
Ellsworth is the Mascot for Team Smackdown at Survivor Series tomorrow.
