Jake Something discusses his future in wrestling.

Jake left IMPACT in March after his contract expired. He had been working for the company since 2017, and he was previously featured as a member of The Deaners before Cody Deaner joined Violent By Design. Jake then had a singles run and faced stars like Trey Miguel and Mike Bailey ahead of his departure. He remains active on the independent scene, as he has wrestled for AAW, Black Label Pro and Glory Pro. Jake has also competed on AEW Dark and NJPW STRONG in recent months.

Speaking with Lo on Wrestling Winedown, Jake was asked to describe his goals and what he want to do next in his career. He noted that he’s not sure right now, but he knows he wants to go wherever he fits best. Jake made it clear that he likes having freedom on the independent scene. He stated that while he believes he’ll sign something eventually, he’s not sure what the right fit is yet.

“I don’t even know. I want it all, right. So I just want to make sure that I go wherever feels the best [and] fits the best. I’m having a good time doing what I’m doing what I’m doing now. I like being able to do whatever I want. Eventually, I’ll sign something, but I don’t know what it’s gonna be. I love working with New Japan, I love doing all the independents, I love the little stuff I did with AEW, I love the stuff I did with IMPACT. WWE would be super cool. I’ve worked with a lot of people in WWE. So I think that I have a lot of possibilities, and I just don’t know what’s the right fit yet. But we’ll see what happens,” Jake said.

When Lo noted that the right move will come along, Something responded by saying, “I’m not even rushing it because I have a lot of things on the horizon, a lot of little talks I’ve been doing, so I just kinda gotta see what feels right.”
