Jade Cargill: I Want To Show My Daughter That She Can Do Any And Everything She Sets Her Mind To

Jade Cargill signed with WWE in September 2023, but didn’t make her in-ring debut until the Women’s Royal Rumble in January.

Since making her in-ring debut, Cargill has won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on two occasions.

Speaking at Sports Business Journal’s Game Changer event, Cargill discussed her first year in WWE.

“This year went by so quick,” she said. “The WWE fan base surprised me in all kinds of ways. I didn’t think that I was going to be accepted the way I was accepted. They came in with open arms. I did the Royal Rumble. The crowd was electrifying. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Cargill sadly lost her mother earlier this year, making it a difficult year for her off-screen.

“My mother passed away this year. … It was a hard moment for me, but I pushed through it, and I talked to my mother,” she said. “I used to talk to my mother every morning about my family, my daughter, what to do if she got sick. If she got a cold, you talk to your mother, and she wasn’t there for me this year. So, I would say the thing I’m most proud of is that I was able to push through that, to just strive through parts. I’m proud that I kept it together and that I’m continuing to push and I’m an example for my daughter to go out there and do major things.

“Being a girl mom has done nothing but tell me to be that example for her, to strive to be that example for her. To tell her to be unapologetic, to show her that women in a male-dominated space like WWE can go out there regardless of what obstacles are in front of you, regardless to what race you are, despite your gender. … I want her to know she can do any in everything that she puts her mind to.”

Cargill and Belair are set to host WWE Bad Blood.
