Jade Cargill Breaks Record For Longest-Reigning Champion In AEW History

Jade Cargill continues to break molds and smash records.

Jade Cargill made history as the first AEW TBS Champion, winning the title on January 5, 2022. In the past year, she has continued to dominate and hasn’t suffered a single defeat. Now, she’s being credited for breaking a record previously held by Hikaru Shida.

Jade has become the longest reigning overall champion in AEW history at 373 days as AEW TBS Champion. Shida’s record was 372 days as AEW Women’s World Champion.

Cargill is also looking to become the first woman to earn 50 victories in AEW without suffering a single defeat. Cargill has only entered one match that she did not win, a Casino Battle Royale in 2021 at All Out. However, as she did not get pinned or submitted, she is still considered to be undefeated and currently has 48 wins under her belt.

Along the way, however, she has lost some of her baddies. Cargill booted both Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet from her stable. She has since defeated Hogan, but Velvet is still looking to exact a measure of revenge.

Still relatively new to wrestling, Cargill has racked up impressive wins against the likes of Athena, Thunder Rosa, Ruby Soho, and more. Part of what has helped her along the way is the guidance of Bryan Danielson.

In the past, Danielson has commented on working with Jade and her perspective on the industry. Fans can read his comments here.
